Logos and Consciousness: Logotherapy and Existential Humanistic Therapy (Vol. 2: Applications)

The second volume sets out some applications of logos-centered psychotherapy: the meaning and significance of suggestion (hypnosis) and indirect suggestibility with metaphorical communication, the role of consciousness in guilt and forgiveness, logos in suicidal ideation and pre-death, reinterpretation of self-directedness and empathy issues, cultural framing and moral reasoning.
The fields of application of Logotherapy and any humanistic-existential approach are all those included in clinical psychology but the greatest evidence of efficacy can be appreciated in the most difficult contexts characterized by the proximity of death; the more the quality of life is compromised the more important it is to raise the consciousness (of the patient and the therapist) about the meaning of life and suffering.
The conclusion is entrusted to the current training resources and future prospects of logotherapy and all humanistic-existential psychotherapeutic approaches in Italy and around the world.
